Ernesto Esposito green studded bow pumps

green bow pumps Ernesto Esposito green studded bow pumps

I’m showing you the top view of these shoes first, because it’s definitely my favourite. In fact, I got really excited about the combination of bow, studs and green suede until…

…I spotted the metal tips on the heels. It wouldn’t be a deal-breaker (if the shoes were affordable, that is: the £370 price tag is enough of a deal-breaker for me right now!), but I’d love these shoes SO much more if the heel was the same colour all the way down. As it is, those pale tips remind me of bandages on a horse’s leg, or a protective wrapper designer to be removed before wearing. Shame: they’re such beautiful shoes other than that!

Friday Fix: Christian Louboutin nude patent Pigalle pumps with bow

christian louboutin bow pigalle Friday Fix: Christian Louboutin nude patent Pigalle pumps with bow

One of my favourite shoes of all time is the nude patent version of Christian Louboutin’s ‘Pigalle’. They’re timeless, simple, gorgeous and could be worn with absolutely anything. Seriously, anything. Even a bathrobe. Or a snuggie. Or a Juicy Couture velour tracksuit. ANYTHING, I tell you. And they would make it look good.

This shoe is basically the Pigalle with a little black bow on the front. And, OK, a mesh section at the vamp, but I can overlook it if you can. And even if you can’t, to be perfectly honest.

How could I not love these? It’s not possible. To see them is to love them – or, at least, it is for me. If it is for you, too, you can click here to buy them at Saks, where they’re £586.60.

Nelly ‘Jade’ pumps with asymmetric sides

mint green shoes Nelly Jade pumps with asymmetric sides

I know: I laid off the mint shoes for at least a couple of weeks, and then I bring you two pairs within a few hours of each other. Sorry. There was just no way I could resist showing you these particular ones, though: I mean, mint green, toe-cap, almost the same shape as my beloved Ones That Got Away from Zara? Yes, these were always destined to end up on Shoeperwoman.com.

Actually, over the past few weeks I’ve seen this shape from multiple different brands: it seems I’m not the only one who really liked those shoes! Unfortunately, while there’s no shortage of the basic style, none of them have managed to get it quite right: the sides of the Zara shoes were much steeper than any of the newer versions, with the asymmetric side sloping all the way down to the sole. That’s what made those shoes so special, and is why none of the others have quite measured up.

That said, these ones are definitely my favourites so far. They’re by Swedish brand Nelly, which you’ve probably been hearing a lot about recently if you follow fashion blogs: the brand has just launched a UK version of their website, and I’ve spent many a happy hour minute browsing through their wares, which have the advantage of being very reasonably priced. These shoes, for instance, are just £41.95, and are also available in black, white and tan, all of which come with metallic toe-caps in either silver or gold.

Anyone shopped from Nelly? What did you think?

So, you all know how much I love toecap pumps, right? And you also know how much I love Giuseppe Zanotti? And bows? I don’t actually have to explain to you why I love this combination of all three, then, right?

Actually, the bows on these shoes probably DO require some further examination, because they’re particularly cute ones:

If I’d seen these without the shoes, I wouldn’t have thought they’d have worked: the bows are cute, but the shoes are elegant, and that’s a combination that can be difficult to pull off. I think these have managed it, though, and if you need further persuasion, just take a look at the back view:

J Crew ‘Mona’ anchor printed pumps

j crew anchor printed pumps J Crew Mona anchor printed pumps

I’m a little bit obsessed with J Crew right now (in fact, I may or may not have taken advantage of their free UK delivery offer last month to place a sneaky little order): their preppy, clean-cut aesthetic just really appeals to me at the moment, and these anchor-printed ‘Mona’ pumps tap right into my love of all things nautical.

What I love most about these is that, despite the whimsical print, they still manage to remain quite understated: I’m often often in danger of looking like I’m in fancy dress as a sailor (especially at this time of year, when so many retailers decide to get their “nautical” on…), but these could easily be worn with a shift dress or pencil skirt and look sophisticated rather than costumey. They’d also look fantastic with jeans, shorts or tailored trousers, for an elegant, summer look.

While the anchor print version is definitely my favourite, though, the ‘Mona’ pumps are worth checking out in some of the other available colours, too. For instance, this:

… is a more or less perfect “nude” pump, no?

Red patent asymmetric pumps by Buffalo

asymmetric Red patent asymmetric pumps by Buffalo

I got outbid on the Zara asymmetric pumps last week. I say “outbid” – I didn’t even get the chance to bid, because after watching them all week, the seller abruptly withdrew them from auction, and added a Buy It Now price for some mystery buyer. Don’t you just HATE it when that happens? Mind you, the final sale price was £130, which was way more than I was willing to pay, so I guess it didn’t really matter! I’ll still keep my eBay alert going, but I’m slowly losing hope of ever finding those shoes at a semi-reasonable price, so the search for similar ones continues, and this week it leads me back to my old friend, Buffalo, and these red asymmetric pumps.

First up, I should say that I found these on a German site, so they’ll only be available to some of my European readers at the moment. As you’ve probably seen from the various other styles I’ve shown from this brand, though, Buffalo is stocked by various other UK websites (my sponsors at Spartoo and Sarenza both carry Buffalo shoes, for instance). I really like the asymmetric shape, although I can’t help wishing these were available in a matte upper rather than a patent one, because I feel the patent is cheapening the overall effect slightly here, although that may just be the effect of the flash in the photo, who knows.

These are also available in a neon green and a similarly bright pink, both of which are far too bright for me: if you’re into neon, though, you can click here to see them.

Kurt Geiger Carvela mid-heeled ‘Anna’ bow pumps

One of my biggest shoe obsessions of the moment is with Carvela’s ‘Assemble’ , with their fabulous double bow and very “ladylike” look. I know many of you are engaged in what feels like a never-ending search for pretty, mid-height heels, though, so here’s the lower version of those shoes, a.k.a Carvela ‘Anna’.

These have the same bow, and the same basic shape, but on a much lower heel. And I never thought I’d say this, because I tend to always go for high heels or flats, with nothing in between, but I really like these myself: the lower heel really lends itself to this shape, and gives them a bit of a 50s feel, which I, of course, thoroughly approve of.

While the silver upper is pretty amazing, though, if glitter isn’t your thing, there are lots of others to choose from. I like them in pink:

but if that’s too boring for you, they also come in orange/red:

    neon yellow:

    And purple:

For what might just be the first time ever, I’m starting to feel like a pair of mid-height heels might be a good addition to my shoe shelves. If you feel the same, you can click here to buy these at Kurt Geiger, where they’re £120.

Black Gardenia Spotty Bow Trim Platform Court Shoes

    by

I was quite surprised to find that these shoes are not only on sale (they’re down to just £30), they’re also still in stock in all sizes at Debenhams this week. No, they’re not the most summery style out there, but they are very cute, and the oversized, polka dot bow adds a touch of whimsy to what would otherwise be a standard black pump.

Speaking of the bow, it actually reminds me a lot of the one on Kurt Geiger’s ‘Minnie’ pumps, which is probably why I instantly thought of Minnie Mouse as soon as I looked at them. Either that or I’ve been watching too much of the Disney channel.

These are £30 at Debenhams: click here to buy them.
