What’s your favourite shoe season?
This week marks the start of September, which means it’s time for me to reluctantly accept that summer is over for another year. (Well, it’s been over here for a few weeks now: I just haven’t been prepared not to accept it.)
This is a time of great mourning in the Shoeper household, because, as anyone who knows me will tell you, I HATE winter. I hate absolutely everything about it, and I don’t even get much solace in winter fashions, because it doesn’t really matter WHAT I decide to wear at this time of year: within a few minutes, I’ll have had to throw an old hoodie or other item over the top of it, in a desperate bid to keep warm. (I feel the cold. A lot.)
Perhaps the only thing I DON’T hate about winter, though, is the shoes. I love boots of almost all shapes and sizes, and I tend to find them more comfortable than shoes too, so a new pair of boots will always cheer me up, at least a little bit. Do I like them better than summer shoes, in all their incarnations? I’m not really sure, to be honest. As you’ve probably worked out by now, one of my favourite shoes style is the peep toe (although not on boots!), so I’d say summer shoes have the edge over winter for me, but only just.
What about you? What’s your favourite shoe season? Are you looking forward to slipping back into boots, or will you be hanging onto your summer styles for as long as humanly possible?
(Both shoes on this page, by the way, are from Faith)
