No discussion of evening shoes would be complete without a mention of Badgley Mischka. ALL of their shoes could probably be described as “party appropriate”, and while the champagne version of these ‘Dress II’ peep toes has a very bridal feel, the emerald green colour will be much more versatile, and would work for any kind of special occasion.
These are what I think of as “mullet” shoes: in a GOOD way, I hasten to add. The front of the shoe, you see, is sleek, simple and perfectly elegant. Turn them around, however, and you’ll soon see that the back is another story altogether – and a very glamorous one, too, with the heels absolutely covered in gold and silver crystals. There’s so much bling on the back of these shoes that they’ll be WAY too much for some tastes: as for me, I think the simplicity of the front balances out the bling on the back, and prevents them from looking too gaudy or cheap. Mind you, this IS my very favourite colour, so I guess I WOULD say that, wouldn’t I?
