Four Festive Party Outfits
I know it seems like party season starts earlier every year, but although it’s only the start of November, stores are already filling their rails and websites with party outfits for the forthcoming season. It’s never too early to start planning what you’re going to wear, and with the world of retail the way it is, sometimes it can be essential to do your party shopping early, before all of the best pieces sell out.
With that in mind, over the next few weeks, I’ll be rounding up some of my favourite party outfits from the UK high street, starting off with one of my current favourites: Miss Selfridge!
I bought a skirt very similar to this one last December, and it turned out to be surprisingly versatile. I love the fact the midi length is fairly demure, which prevents the sequins from being too OTT, and, worn with a simple sweater, I found it a great option for parties which I wanted to look festive, without looking like I was on my way to a nightclub.
Most party outfits seem to revolve around dresses, but if you’re looking for a slightly more casual option, a pair of black jeans can work really well with a dressy top and jacket.
All white party outfits are popular this season (if that matters to you), but cream and gold is a slightly more wearable option, and one that brings tons of old-fashioned glamour to the (Christmas) party. I’m loving the current trend for faux fur coats, and am particularly enamoured with this teddy bear version!
This dress has a flapper-girl feel to it, and would also look good with black tights, if you want to make it a little warmer.
