Any musicians out there? Or just plain ol’ music lovers? If so, these shoes just might appeal to you: and even if you don’t normally go for novelty prints, I think this one is subtle enough not to matter. In fact, at first glance it looks like a random, abstract kind of print – it’s only when you take a closer look that you realise what it actually is, which can be a great way to make a shoe more interesting.
By sticking to a black and white colourway, Miu Miu have also managed to make these shoes very easy to style, despite the fact that they’re covered in musical notes. That upper will work with just about anything, although my inclination would be to pair it with bold, block colours, to allow it to really shine. My one wish for these shoes would be a slightly higher heel: at 3.5″, this one definitely doesn’t qualify as “low”, but it’s at that kind of awkward height where it’s neither one thing nor the other, and I have a feeling I’d like these better if they were either at least half an inch higher, or totally flat. With that said, they actually DO look higher when you see them on a foot, and a least the lower heel will make them a little easier to walk in.
What to wear with these shoes?
Sticking with the “bold, bright colour” idea mentioned above, I’ve chosen a statement dress, that still allows the shoes to stand out:
Pink dress and Miu Miu musical notes shoes:
As for the bag, well, the colour was such a perfect match for the dress, and it continues the “music” theme started by the shoes, so there was just no way I couldn’t include it!
