I think this must be the first time I’ve heard of a waiting list for a high street shoe, but Clarks are claiming that their La Magdalene sandal, designed by TV personality Mary Portas for the UK chain, is proving so popular that there’s already a 1,000-strong waiting list. Some sizes are currently available to pre-order on the Clarks website, but others will be subject to a delay of a few weeks while more shoes are manufactured.
You can, however, still order the other styles from the Mary & Clarks line, which includes the ‘La Antoinette’ leopard print boot, £110:

Those shoes are all fine, but just fine. Especially the last pair – Office bring out shoes like this every year so Mary Portas isn’t doing anything that special, here. Also, I HATE the names – putting ‘La’ in front of everything is JUST. TOO. TWEE.
