I’ve always been partial to Irregular Choice’s ‘Antique Rose’ courts, so naturally I had to show you ‘Lola’, which is the latest incarnation of the style.
These are exclusive to Schuh in the UK, and, unlike some of the previous versions of this shoe, have a chunky heel to balance out the generously sized rose which gives the style its name. Personal preference dictates that I will always favour the more slender, curved heel which appeared on the older Antique Rose shoes, but I do like this version too, and I would imagine the width of the heel, combined with the rounded toe, should make these reasonably comfortable, too – for heels, anyway.
Speaking of heels, these ones are all glammed-up, with their glittery coats on. There are two colurways to choose from here: the black and gold version is the more subtle of the pair (If gold glitter can ever be described as “subtle”, that is!), but if you’re going to do glitz, you may just want to go all the way, with the multicolured version, and its all-over shine.
