Some of Nicholas Kirkwood’s designs can be a little too “out there” for some tastes (although personally I’d happily wear all of them, if I only had the cash!). These ones, however, are slightly more restrained than some of Kirkwood’s designs, and while they still have that trademark “rocking horse” platform sole, the rest of the shoe is suitably simple, so they should be easy enough to wear.

I love them, but do you? Get them for £455 at Far Fetch, if you do.

I thought I’d finish this week the same way I started it: with a pair of bright pink (OK, magenta, then…) shoes with a bow on them somewhere. In this case, the bow is on the side rather than on the toe, and the colour is closer to purple than pink on my monitor, but hey, it’s Friday: cut me some slack here!

These shoes are also available in black, but this would be my choice of colour if I was in the market for a pair. They’re £35 from Dorothy Perkins.

Yes, I know: the name of these shoes confused me, too, because although they’re called ‘Lace’, there doesn’t appear to be a scrap of lace on them. Instead, the uppers are made from a glitter-encrusted fabric, and as far as I’m concerned, if shoes HAVE to have glitter on them, then this is the way I’d like it to be done. These are pretty and sparkly, but don’t look like the result of a child’s art project, which is always a good thing when you’re talking about shoes that cost £325!

Would you be willing to spend £325 on them, though? If you would, you can buy them on the Jimmy Choo website.

Dorothy Perkins have just started stocking some styles by shoe brand ‘Timeless’, so the first thing to note about these shoes is that they’re ‘timeless’ by name, not necessarily by nature.

As it happens, I don’t think these shoes are particularly timeless-by-nature. At first glance I was instantly seduced by the bow on the front, which is certainly cute enough, but underneath that I’m seeing something I think of as a “clubbing shoe” – especially in the metallic purple version, seen in the middle of this photo.

Clubbing isn’t something I do a whole lot of these days, so shoes like this don’t hold a whole lot of appeal for me. If they appeal to you, though, they’re £55 and you can buy them here.

These shoes are available in no less than 11 different colours, so if you’re not keen on green, it’s well worth visiting the Nina website to see the rest of the range (I’m quite keen on the bright blue version, but every one’s a winner, to be honest). There are, of course, no prizes for guessing why I like these shoes: if I had to find fault with them, I’d probably say I could live without the ankle strap (I could almost always say that about ankle straps), but I could live with it, too, and it’s delicate enough not to draw too much attention to the ankle area.

So: gorgeous green colour, cute little bow, slender stiletto – what’s not to like? These are $92.95 and you can buy a pair here.

ASOS ‘Hooray’ slingback strappy sandals

I know it doesn’t make the slightest bit of difference to the way they look, but the fact that these shoes are called ‘Hooray’ did help make me smile this morning.

Some other things about these shoes that make me smile:

1. The price – they’re only £45.

2. The fact that they come in two of my favourite shoe-colours: nude and red.

3. The cute little double platform.

4. The fact that, as nice as they look in the image above, they look even nicer on. Take a look under the jump if you don’t believe me:

Gina ‘Clair’ platform hoodie pumps

Just before we go any further here, I want to make it clear that “hoodie pump” isn’t my name for these shoes, it’s how Gina themselves have decided to describe them. It IS rather apt, though, because the gathered front on these does look a little bit like a hood of sorts, doesn’t it?

I’m in two minds about these shoes. In the black and cream versions, I think the gathered toe makes the shoe look like it’s been wrapped up in some kind of protective dust-cover, which the owner hasn’t bothered to remove before wearing them. The red version, however… well, the red version I rather like, and I somehow think it works a little better.

What do you think? These are £450 from Gina.

Yes, it’s another bow-front court shoe, but the bow in this case is just a little bit different. The actual shape of these shoes is a tad matronly for me (there’s something about a chunky heel and rounded toe that always makes me think of the Queen, although I doubt she’d wear shoes this high!), but I do love the colour mix, which is dressy, but not so much that you’d be forced to save them for special occasions.

These are £250 from My-Wardrobe.

I first spotted these shoes a few weeks ago, in some kind of promotional material for Miss Selfridge, and I’ve been waiting for them to appear on the website ever since, just so I could show them to you!

I think these are perfect Spring/Summer shoes, and the blend of hot pink suede and polka dot embellishment makes them lots of fun, and all you’d need to make an old pair of jeans or little black dress look instantly more interesting. These are only £45, and are one of a few styles I have my eyes on at Miss Selfridge this season. Get them here.

You could tell just from the headline that I was going to like these shoes, couldn’t you? Well, you were right, I do. They come in four different colours, but for reasons I can’t even begin to explain, I’m going through a bit of a “pink” phase at the moment (this is strange to me, because I’ve never really been a “pink” girl), so these are the two that appeal most to me. My favourites are the pair on the right, which are just really fresh, and fun and spring-link, and not quite as “River Island Barbie” as the pair on the left, which also have the dreaded metal heel. I think I spy a stripey insole, too: that makes me happy.

These are £59.99. Get them here.
