Heroes or Villains? Karen Millen’s extravagant frill court shoes

karen millen frill shoes Heroes or Villains? Karen Millens extravagant frill court shoes

My first thought upon seeing these Karen Millen court shoes was that they were a couple of little punks, what with all that mohawk action going on at the back there. And of course, they’re not even remotely punk-like (they’re white stiletto court shoes, after all), but that’s really all I can think of now when I see them. It’s as if they have FACES.  Moving on…

The “extravagant ruffle” that gives these their name is just TOO extravagant for me, and I find myself wishing they’d head to the hairdresser and get themselves a buzz cut. Aaaand, there I go thinking of them as people again. Must. Stop. That.

What do you think of these, readers? Heroes or Villains? Or… punks?

Heroes or Villains? Prada’s Chandelier shoes

prada chandelier shoes Heroes or Villains? Pradas Chandelier shoes

If you keep up with the world of fashion at all, I’m sure you won’t need me to tell you that Prada’s chandelier shoes are currently being hailed as one of the “It” shoes of this season. I have to be honest: I’m really struggling to understand just WHY that is, because although I know it’s not actually the case, everything about these shoes just screams “cheap” to me, from the tip of  their crystal-trimmed toes to their lucite heels.

Can we also talk about that clear plastic velcro strap? Or don’t we need to even mention how cheap it looks?

Well, I’ve made it pretty clear how I feel about these (and have saved myself $1,800 into the bargain!), but what about you, readers? These shoes are obviously being coveted by shoe bloggers the world over for a good reason: anyone want to explain to me what it is?

These aren’t yet available to buy, and will be in limited supply when they are: rumour has it that the US will receive only three pairs, so once again, sorry if I’ve just dashed your hopes of ever owning a pair. What do you think of them, though?

harajuku lovers dobson Heroes or Villains: Harajuku Lovers Dobson bow tie bootsIt’s been a long time since we had a ‘Heroes or Villains’ post here, so rather than telling you what I think of Harajuku Lovers’ ‘Dobson’ boots – which look like they’re wearing a shirt and tie – I’m going to let you tell me.

Are they shoe heroes, or are they villains of the footwear world? Place your vote in the poll below, and don’t forget to tell me the reasons behind your vote!

Heroes or Villains? Topshop’s ‘Wanda’ raised platform wedges

wanda raised wedges topshop Heroes or Villains? Topshops Wanda raised platform wedges

Can you believe these are from Topshop? Well, actually, I kind of can, purely because Topshop are becoming well-known for their weird and often wonderful shoes, but if I hadn’t known where these ones were from, I’d easily have believed they were a designer shoe.

But what do you think of them? They look a little bit like two different shoes stuck together tome: a wooden-soled wedge sitting on top of a platform heel. And although I like the mixed metallics, I’m just not sure how I feel about the rest. So tell me: are these shoe heroes or villains? You’ll find a poll under the jump, but feel free to leave a comment explaining your decision!

(Oh: the shoes are £85 and you can buy them here.)

Heroes or Villains? Unicorn Princess heels from Modcloth

unicorn princess Heroes or Villains? Unicorn Princess heels from ModclothHmmm. The words “unicorn” and “princess” in the name of these shoes certainly appeals to the part of me that’s secretly still only 6 years old, and dreaming of being a Disney princess when she grows up. And the nude colour works for me too, obviously. (See: nude shoes, my current obsession with) As for the rest, though, I’m not so sure. The unicorn horn heel, and ruffles around the ankle definitely make these shoes stand out, but do they stand out for good reasons or for bad ones?

I’m going to let you be the judge of that. If you love them, though, but them now for $119 at Modcloth.

lamb favbia Heroes or Villains: L.A.M.Bs Fabia heels

Sometimes it’s hard to tell whether a shoe is a superhero or a super-villain.

Take L.A.M.B’s ‘Fabia’ heels, for instance ($399 at Zappos). I know what I think of them, but… I’m not going to tell you. Instead, I’m going to leave it up to you to decide whether you love these beyond reason, or whether you need me to stab them with my shoeper stiletto and throw them into space.

Or, in other words: do you love them or hate them?
