I know it hasn’t been too long since I last subjected you to evidence of my obsession with red shoes, but when you find a pair as perfect as these ones, you just can’t keep them all to yourself, can you?
These are by Guess, whose latest collection has been really impressing me: it’s full of ladylike, pointed pumps, sophisticated strappy sandals, and, well, THESE. Which are, as I said, the perfect pair of peep toes. I’ve actually been on the lookout for a pair of shoes like this, to replace the red pair from Zara, which will surely fall to pieces soon if I keep wearing them as often as I, so these have gone straight onto my wish list. They have a high stiletto heel, a small covered platform, and a small peep toe, all of which is wrapped up in this cherry-red patent upper – the ideal colour to wear with all of those retro-style dresses I can’t seem to stop buying. Oh, and they’ll look fabulous with a plain old pair of jeans, too.
What to wear with red patent peep toes?
I’ve shown the last few pairs of red shoes with nautically-inspired casual looks, so this time I’ve gone for something slightly different:
What to wear with red patent peep toes:
This white Oasis dress has a neon yellow detail at the back, which I personally think spoils it – “the simpler, the better” has always been my motto – but I do have to admit that it adds a welcome splash of colour, and the rest of the dress is nice enough for me to be willing to overlook the strangeness at the back. The bag, meanwhile, I have no reservations about at all – love that unusual shape, and the mix of nude and mint!
