I love shoe boots for their low-profile, streamlined shape: they offer almost as much coverage as an ankle boot, but without actually BEING an ankle boot – which means you don’t have to worry about whether your trousers will fit over/under the boot, or whether the opening will be so wide you’ll look like you’re wearing wellies.
Gold gold may seem like an odd choice for a boot – ANY kind of boot – but I actually love the gold glittered upper on these New Look boots, too. It’s dressy, without being too glittery, and as I never tire of saying, gold is a colour that will work with almost anything else, which means these would make a nice (and warmer!) alternative to pumps for the autumn/winter months.
What would you wear with them? Well, take your pick: one of the great things about shoe boots is that they look equally good with both skirts and trousers, making them a lot more versatile than some other forms of winter footwear.
Speaking of skirts, while I was on the New Look website, I couldn’t help but have a quick look at the skirt section: they had a really nice selection of midis during the summer, and I’m pleased to see that continuing:
This skirt is by a brand called Tenki, and although New Look recommend it for summer evenings, I think the colours would also work into autumn – in fact, it could look good with a pair of dark red tights, and shoe boots in a matching colour. (The gold boots would also work, but I’d maybe skip the tights in that case.) For outerwear, I’m currently obsessed with biker jackets, and really like this tan suedette one:
Now, this is actually from the teens department, true, but I can’t be the only one who occasionally shops there… can I?
