How I wish Giuseppe Zanotti had resisted the impulse to add the metal heel to these sandals: they were perfectly striking enough without it and, as always, the metal seems to cheapen the shoe for me, which is NOT something you want to say about your new pair of £378 shoes, is it?
On the plus side, however, I absolutely love the shape of these and, of course, the colour: red shoes are almost always the way to Shoeperwoman’s heart. Or feet, rather.
These are available at Luisa Via Roma. Click here to buy them.
The upper is good shaped, but the half metal heels and exposed hardware (the buckle) make them seem anything but class.

I agree with you both about that heel. Yuck.
I have a pair of Louboutins with a heel like that and I love them, but you’re right, it doesn’t really work on most shoes. Again with the ankle breaking height though; why are designers doing this to me?
