I know I featured Gianvito Rossi here quite recently, but I just couldn’t resist also showing you these cute little cherry sandals, which have completely won my heart!
Now, I have to be honest: I don’t often feature strappy designer sandals here, for the simple reason that I don’t generally find them all that interesting. I know that’s possibly a strange thing to say, given that I’m running a shoe blog, and don’t get me wrong – I do love those shoes, and think they can be incredibly beautiful. What they don’t tend to be, however, is all that different from each other: there are only so many ways to make a single-strap sandal, after all, and given that the price tags on the designer versions is always absolutely extortionate, this is one style of shoe that I’d much rather buy from the high street. That’s just me, though, and I know that if money were no object, I’d probably be all over those strappy sandals, which is why I was so excited by these ones: yes, they’re still totally simple in shape, but that little cherry is so perfectly placed, and such an awesome addition to the overall design that it really makes these shoes special.
(Of course, having said that, I’m an absolute sucker for pretty much anything with a cherry on top, so make of that what you will!)
While we’re on the subject of shoes that are simple, but still special, though, take a look at these red pumps, also by Gianvito Rossi:
Unlike sandals, pumps are one of the styles of shoe that I AM willing to spend a bit more on – when I can afford to, that is! That’s because, simple though they look, this style is actually quite tricky to get right, and there’s a subtle, but important, difference, between a nice pump and an AMAZING pump. I think these ones fall into the latter category – don’t you?
