Christian Louboutin ‘Tucsy’ Two-Tone Leather Pumps, £845

I’ve been raving about the quality of Christian Louboutin’s black pumps this season, but the neutrals aren’t half bad either, are they?

This style is called ‘Tuscy’, and, as with so much of the current collection, it’s a classic, pointed toe pump, in a creamy-beige leather. This, however, is a little fancier than the type of thing we’d generally expect from the words “beige pumps”, (Aside: I know most people seem to find beige boring – or that’s the word I most often seem to hear used in conjunction with it anyway – but I have a bit of a soft spot for it. It’s a wonderful neutral, and can actually be really glamorous if done right.) thanks to that fantastic glitter trim around the footbed.

The silver trim has the effect of making the upper seem even curvier, and more delicate than it actually is – not that Louboutin shoes ever really need to look MORE curvy. There’s also a scalloped effect near the heel, for added interest, and the whole thing is finished off with the flash of red from that famous sole.

Although silver glitter may not seem like the most sophisticated of uppers, these shoes have such a subtle shimmer to them that they’re in no danger at all of looking tacky, or over-the-top. Instead, they’re the kind of grown-up party pumps that will see you through many a party season, and work effortlessly with with most of your wardrobe. There aren’t many colours that don’t go with beige/cream, so these should be incredibly versatile: just look out for that stiletto heel – it’s higher than it looks, at just under 5″!
