Friday Favourites: What to Buy This Week

A slight change to this week’s post: this column used to be called ‘Five on Friday’, and featured five things I’d spotted during the week, and wanted to share with you all – or to buy myself, let’s be honest.

That’s all well and good, of course, but the problem is, not even I always find five things I want to buy every week: sometimes I find one, and sometimes I find twenty. After years of favouring cropped, fitted knits, this year I’m finding myself drawn to loose, slouchier ones instead. I’d still like to keep the look interesting, however, so this gold sweater from Zara is just what I’m looking for. Shirts are another relatively new addition to my closet. Up until a year or so ago, I didn’t have any: now I have quite a few, which are on constant rotation. Pink is one of the colours my closet is currently lacking, however, and when I saw this one at Dorthy Perkins, I really liked the way they’d styled it with a simple pair of black leggings: this would be a much more polished looking “work from home” outfit than my usual uniform of jeans and a sweater – how many shirts counts as too many, do you think?
