My favourite jacket of the season… so far

One of my favourite autumn purchases of the year so far is something I didn’t actually expect to love quite as much as I do: introducing the Betty London ‘Delphine’ parka!

Betty London Delphine parka

This was actually a bit of an impulse buy, ordered immediately after a particularly chilly walk in the countryside, during which it occurred to me that I could really be doing with a warm jacket that wouldn’t look too out of place on the Sunday strolls we sometimes like to take. I did already own a parka, but as much as I love it, it’s a particularly thick and heavy one, which is only really suitable for the absolute coldest days of the years. This one looked like a slightly lighter version, which would be a bit less cumbersome to wear, so I ordered it then and there, thinking it would be one of those purely practical purchases, which would be worn only because I needed to wear it, rather than because I wanted to wear it.

Well, colour me surprised, because it’s hardly been off my back ever since it arrived. (Well, not when I’ve been indoors, obviously – that would just be silly…) Not only is it ever bit as comfortable and warm as I’d hoped it would be, it’s also the perfect jacket to wear with more casual outfits – and as I’ve been wearing a lot of green, beige and khaki lately, the colour works perfectly with my autumn wardrobe, too. It’s the surprise hit of the season for me, and here’s how I’ve mostly been wearing it:

Er, so almost exactly the way they styled it on the Spartoo website then, but hey: if it works, who cares, right? All of the items in the image – and the parka itself – are available to buy at Spartoo: happy shopping!
