Dune ‘Dearest‘, £89
I’ve been really impressed by Dune’s Spring/Summer collection this year, as you might have guessed from the frequency of the brand’s appearance here. At a time when a lot of shoes are starting to feel a bit “samey” (Single-strap sandals, for instance, are hugely popular right now, but there’s only so much you can do with them before they all start to blend into each other!), Dune have managed to keep things fresh and interesting, and that’s definitely the case with these ‘Dearest’ slingacks.
Floral print shoes are, of course, nothing new (especially at this time of year), but I think this might be the first time I’ve seen a metallic pair. It’s a combination that sounds like it shouldn’t really work, but I actually think the silver upper makes these slingbacks really special. A non-metallic shade would still have looked good, but the silver backdrop to the floral upper really dresses these up, and gives them a subtle sheen which is really pretty.
These have a very delicate feel to them, and would be perfect for something like a summer wedding: you can’t go wrong with a good ol’ floral print in that kind of situation!
