My love of both the colour blue and most of the shoes from Dune’s Spring 2013 collection combine in these ‘Abode’ court shoes, which are also available in a very pale beige.
The studded, double-layer bow is the main feature of these shoes, and it, along with the colour, transforms the classic pump into a shoe that’s STILL classic, but which now has a bit of a twist. I think the blue upper is fabulous, but I also really like the beige version, in which the studs are the same colour as the upper, rather than contrasting with it, as they do in the blue pair. This is a good way to make studs more subtle, but it also makes the shoe look a little more expensive.
These have a 110mm heel and an almond-shaped toe, which I know is a lot of people’s preferred shape, being neither too rounded or too pointy. It also helps tone down the feel of these slightly, and although the colour is bright (or at least the blue version is), I think these could make nice office shoes for the summer season.
