    Sigerson Morrison ‘Dali’ wedge sandals

sigerson morrison dali wedges Sigerson Morrison Dali wedge sandals

I’d actually earmarked these shoes to show you a couple of weeks ago, but they sold out almost instantly, so I didn’t manage to get round to it: obviously I’m not the only one who liked them, then!

These are by Sigerson Morrison, and I think they’re another great example of how to do perspex on shoes right. The plastic section on the wedge heel here is anything but tacky, and instead helps to give the shoe a very modern, stylized kind of feel. The two-tone upper, meanwhile, is also muted enough to make sure these look sophisticated, rather than stripper-ish, which can so often be the fate of perspex-heeled shoes.

These are available in very limited sizes at Shopbop (click here to check if yours is one of them), but I also spotted a version with a blue upper at Barney’s, and you can get those here.

    Balenciaga Winged Woven Sandals

I have to admit, I’ve always rather liked the idea of wings on the feet: well, it’s a very “shoeperhero” kind of idea, no?

As for the wings on these feet – or these shoes, rather – they’re by Balenciaga, they’re $2,950, and they combine that dramatic, winged upper with an interesting, cut-out heel, which is similar to the one on the Balenciaga boots I showed you last week.

I think these could look absolutely amazing on the right person, with the right outfit. Unfortunately that person isn’t me, but if you want it to be YOU, you can click here to buy these at Barney’s.

I’m showing you the top view of these shoes first, because it’s definitely my favourite. In fact, I got really excited about the combination of bow, studs and green suede until…

…I spotted the metal tips on the heels. It wouldn’t be a deal-breaker (if the shoes were affordable, that is: the £370 price tag is enough of a deal-breaker for me right now!), but I’d love these shoes SO much more if the heel was the same colour all the way down. As it is, those pale tips remind me of bandages on a horse’s leg, or a protective wrapper designer to be removed before wearing. Shame: they’re such beautiful shoes other than that!

Dolce & Gabbana leather Mary Jane pumps

Net-a-Porter describe these shoes as “essentials”. Now, I’m not sure $695 shoes are ever really “essential”, but I do see where they’re coming from: these have that perfect Mary Jane shape, and are in a neutral enough colour that I can imagine wearing them over and over again, with lots of different outfits, making them the kind of shoe that becomes a wardrobe staple – and which you mourn when they finally fall apart!

As much as I like the colour it’s just a little too pale to be totally practical for me, so I’d love to see these in some brighter shades. I’m thinking red and green would do for starters, but these are such a great shape, that I can’t think of a colour they wouldn’t look good in.

If you love them in this colour right here, however, you can click here to buy them from Net-a-Porter.

Love Moschino Red Suede Platform Sandals with heart cutouts

You all know by now what a sucker I am for hearts on shoes (or clothes. Or anything, really.) so it’ll come as no surprise to hear that I’m a big fan of these heart-cutout peep toes by Love Moschino.

These are actually a fairly subtle take on the heart-shoe look, and slightly less “cutesy” than some of their heart-covered sisters. In fact, it’s only when you take a closer look that the heart-cutouts become apparent, and I rather like that about them: the result is a very wearable, fairly classic shoe (especially to someone like me, whose go-to shoe colour is bright red), but with a sweet little twist.

These are $270 and you can click here to buy them.

Friday Fix: Christian Louboutin nude patent Pigalle pumps with bow

christian louboutin bow pigalle Friday Fix: Christian Louboutin nude patent Pigalle pumps with bow

One of my favourite shoes of all time is the nude patent version of Christian Louboutin’s ‘Pigalle’. They’re timeless, simple, gorgeous and could be worn with absolutely anything. Seriously, anything. Even a bathrobe. Or a snuggie. Or a Juicy Couture velour tracksuit. ANYTHING, I tell you. And they would make it look good.

This shoe is basically the Pigalle with a little black bow on the front. And, OK, a mesh section at the vamp, but I can overlook it if you can. And even if you can’t, to be perfectly honest.

How could I not love these? It’s not possible. To see them is to love them – or, at least, it is for me. If it is for you, too, you can click here to buy them at Saks, where they’re £586.60.

Balenciaga ‘Blade’ high boots with wavy heel

These boots aren’t particularly season-appropriate for those of us in the Northern hemispehere right now, but it’s so unusual for me to find a pair of boots I actually like that when I do, I’m going to show you them, appropriate or not!

Of course, when I say I like the boots, I really mean I like the heel. Without that wavy, cut-out design, these would be a standard pair of black knee boots, albeit a rather nice (and expensive) pair: with it, they become little works of boot-art. It’s not often I get to say that.

These also use a silver lining on the sole to rather nice effect, and look like they’d have a fairly narrow fit, which can be hard to find with boots. Being Balenciaga, however, means that all of this does come at a price, and in this case it’s £895. Gulp.

Giuseppe Zanotti black and gold toe cap stilettos

So, you all know how much I love toecap pumps, right? And you also know how much I love Giuseppe Zanotti? And bows? I don’t actually have to explain to you why I love this combination of all three, then, right?

Actually, the bows on these shoes probably DO require some further examination, because they’re particularly cute ones:

If I’d seen these without the shoes, I wouldn’t have thought they’d have worked: the bows are cute, but the shoes are elegant, and that’s a combination that can be difficult to pull off. I think these have managed it, though, and if you need further persuasion, just take a look at the back view:
