Cinderella shoes, and other offerings from Gianvito Rossi

I love shoes and I love denim. I don’t, however, generally love the two together, so when I saw that the pale blue upper on these Gianvito Rossi sandals was denim, rather than some other fabric, I was a little bit disappointed. Then I realised that although they might be made from denim, these are still worlds away from the type of denim shoes I remember from the late nineties/early noughties – and, of course, they have a cherry on top. If you know me at all, you probably know that I’m a bit of a sucker for anything with a cherry on it, so while I’d still baulk at thought of paying THIS much money (I mean, these are over £1,000, which… seriously?) for a pair of denim sandals, I will admit that they’re sweet and summery enough that I’d definitely consider wearing them, if they were to magically appear on my shoe shelves.

I have a much less complicated response to these shoes, meanwhile…

Now, these I just love unreservedly: they’re true ‘Cinderella’ shoes, and the kind of thing that makes me just want to sit and stare at them. Unfortunately, that’s all I’ll ever do with these: they’re TWICE as expensive as the pair above, so even if, by some miracle, I thought I could afford a pair, I’m pretty sure I’d be too scared to ever wear them, just in case I damaged them. (Which I almost certainly would, knowing my level of clumsiness…)

Then there’s these boots:

Again, you don’t even want to KNOW how much these cost (Oh, OK, it’s £2,156. Scary, huh?), but I reckon I could easily get my money’s worth out of these ones, given how perfect they are – and how much cold weather we get here. What do you think?
