Or “What I Bought at The Outnet’s Christian Louboutin Sale”. (WARNING: this is very image-heavy!)
“Oh, hai Shoeperwoman! What’s in the box? We know it can’t be SHOES, because you promised not to buy any more shoes until Christmas! But what is it?”
“Oh-kaaay. It’s from The Outnet. But at least we know it’s not shoes, right? Right?”
“Oh. Maybe it’s filled with… essential foodstuffs? Yes?”
“Or maybe not.”
Yay! It’s the Mad Mary studded Mary Janes! Otherwise known as “OMGICANTBELIEVEIJUSTBOUGHTTHESE!”
I really was amazingly lucky to get these. I happened to be at my computer when The Outnet email announcing that the sale was now live came in (Um, just because I was working, you know? I wasn’t, like, obsessively refreshing my email, just waiting for that very message or anything. Not me.) and I instantly clicked through to see what was available. The Mad Marys were the first shoes on the page, and I couldn’t quite believe they were there: these were really hard to get hold off when they came out, and, unlike most of The Outnet’s stock, I don’t think they were ever available on Net-a-Porter, so I had to do a double-take to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. Then I swooped.
Unfortunately for me, my superpowers were to prove useless in this situation. I added the size 37.5 to my basket (I normally wear a 37, but it was already sold out, and I figured a half-size wouldn’t make a difference), but by the time I got to checkout, a mere TWO SECONDS later… they were no longer available. Sold out. My heart was broken.
I let out a howl of protest, then hit the “back” button, convinced that All Was Lost. But no! By the time I got back to the product page, these were sold out in EVERY SINGLE SIZE… except the size 38.
Well, I’ve tried on enough pairs of Louboutins to know that they can come up small in some styles. And heel grips are a shoe-lovers best friend. So I didn’t hesitate: I added them to my basket (VERY LOW STOCK! said The Outnet. Yeah, I KNOW.) and managed to get through checkout without them selling out. Then I punched the air repeatedly and did a victory dance around the house. Then I realised that I’d just been in a crazy rush to give someone a large amount of money. Which is…really quite weird.
Totally worth it, though.
As for the sizing, well, as it turns out, the 38s are a pretty good fit. When I first put them on, I thought they were a perfect fit, but when I tried to walk in them, I realised that my heels were slipping out a little. Heel grips will make them perfect, though, and I’m pretty sure the 37s , and maybe even the 37.5, would’ve been too tight, so I think I actually got the right size – better to be slightly too big than slightly too small, I think.
Despite the fact that they’re, well, covered in crazy-ass studs, I’m planning to get a lot of wear out of them this winter. In fact, I might not bother taking them off…
Oh they are To. Die. For. I think I may cry.
Those. Are. Awesome!
Amber, they’re beautiful. I’m 90% happy for you and only 10% jealous. Maybe 80/20.

I love them! V sad that I didn’t have the money to participate in the Great Louboutin Twitter Buying Session, as it shall henceforth be called, but omg they’re gorgeous!
Amazing! They look even better than they did on the Outnet. However, this post has caused me to experience a new wave of sadness about that the ones I wanted which sold out immediately, oh woe is me 🙁
I didn’t like them when I saw them before, but after seeing them on, I kind of love them.

WOW! You got them 🙂 !! So cool! I was actually online before the email arrived in my inbox (not that i’ve tried very hard not to forget the starting hour…nope, not me!), but all interesting things were already sold out (including those)…

Of course these totally don’t break your ‘ no more shoes until Christmas’ promise because they’re Louboutins On Sale. Also, if you weren’t meant to have them they wouldn’t have fitted now would they? Enabling? Me? Never!
