Before I go any further with this post, can we just take a quick minute to reflect upon the fact that these shoes are from the Christian Louboutin Autumn/Winter collection? And that a lot of stores currently have their end-of-season sales running? Crazy, isn’t it? I’ve always hated the fact that retail seasons are always one season ahead, forcing you to buy winter clothes during the summer (or risk not being able to replace your winter coat when the season finally rolls around), and making it hard to find a bikini in August. But I digress…
These shoes are, as I said, from the Autumn/ Winter collection, and from what I’ve seen of it so far, I have to say I’m slightly underwhelmed. I don’t mean I don’t like the shoes: on the contrary, there’s a lot of ‘So Kate’ colours, and a lot of ‘Very Prive’, and as those are two of my favourite Louboutin styles of all time, I’m always more than happy to see them, and hope the designer never stops making them,
There’s no denying, however, that I’ve featured those particular styles a lot here, and there’s really not a whole lot else I can say about them. The rest of the collection (so far, anyway), seems to lack what I’d describe as a “stand out” shoe, so while there are lots that I like – and like a LOT – there aren’t really any that make me think, “WOW!”
These red suede sandals are a case in point: they’re absolutely beautiful shoes, and I’m sure I’d love them if I were to see them in person, but they’re not quite in the league of ‘Hot Chick’, say, or any of the other styles that make me drool all over my keyboard. Still, they ARE red, and they ARE beautiful, and that’s good enough for me!
