A hot pink upper, a flash of red, and a pointed, slingback shape: it’s the ultimate in “ladylike” dressing, in the shape of Christian Louboutin’s ‘Apostrophy’ suede slingbacks.
Like the ‘Gamma Talon’ slingbacks I featured a few weeks ago, these shoes use the technique of cutting the red sole into the top of the heel, in order to create a stiletto which looks much higher, and far more lethal than it actually is. Despite that, these have a much more demure feel to them than the Gamma Talons: part of that is to do with the slightly lower heel (This one is “just” 100mm, as opposed to the 120mm of the other shoe), but there’s also just something about a pointed toe slingback that harkens back to the days when people “dressed up” as a matter of course, and heels weren’t just for special occasions.
Despite the “ladylike” feel, however, these shoes are far from old fashioned, with the classic shape countered by the hot pink upper, and, of course, that heel![Buy them here]
