As soon as I laid eyes on Office’s ‘Starlight’ pumps, I thought they looked a lot like Christian Louboutin’s ‘Alti Spikes’.
Then, as soon as I landed on the Louboutin website to compare them, I realised that, no, they really don’t.
I mean, they’ve obviously been inspired by them to some extent. They both have black uppers, covered in spikes, they’re both platforms, they both have high stiletto heels. But seen side-by-side, they’re chalk and cheese: or Office and Louboutin, rather.
Rather than dwelling on the comparison, then, allow me to share with you the story of how I tried the Alti Spikes on a few weeks ago in Neiman Marcus, just for fun. As I paraded around the shoe department in front of my extremely bored husband, I noticed a woman sitting waiting to try on some shoes of her own, just staring at my feet. Sensing me looking at her, she glanced up and caught my eye. “Those,” she said matter-of-factly, “are the most amazing shoes I have ever seen in my life. Ever.”
And you know what?
At that particular moment, I couldn’t have agreed more.
I love Christian Louboutin’s Alti spiked pumps! When I was at our FNO in Thessaloniki yesterday, I saw another “inspired” version of them by Vince Camuto, which are more affordable (than CLs), and immediately fell in love with them. Here they are, if you want to check them out: http://www.vincecamuto.com/product/madelyn/madelyn.html.
I think they are a much closer version to the Louboutins.
I guess we can safely call them an “inspiration” rather than a direct copy. Which makes a nice change from say, Steve Madden.
Wow those spikes looks “dangerous”. Nice looking and trendy shoes. I like it!
Those Loubs are positively making me drool! And you’re right, those imposters aren’t nearly as nice, there’s no comparison, really.
