Buffalo is the latest brand to jump aboard the “asymmetric shoe” train, which has been making its way down the track for a couple of years now. In that time, this distinctive, sloping-sided shape has become pretty ubiquitous, with too many brands to list bringing out their own take of the look. The Zara version will always be my favourite, and although they were themselves based on a Christian Louboutin design, they seem to be the shoes that popularized this particular style (and actually did a better job than Louboutin, as much as it pains me to say it…).
These Buffalo pumps, meanwhile, use the same, pointed-toe shape, with asymmetric sides and a 10cm stiletto heel. The pale pink upper will make them very versatile, and will be particularly appropriate with the softer shades that are generally around in springtime. These are also available in black, however, just in case you hadn’t seen enough versions of that particular style already! I think they look great with pencil skirts and other very classic styles, but they’re simple enough to work with anything. With so many versions of these available now, I’ve started to think of this shape as something of a modern classic: the different colours and prints just keep on coming, and while the nude/pink version shown here is a good place to start your collection, I have a feeling we can expect to continue to see these in lots of different colourways, for a long time to come.
