Beautiful Bridal Shoes: Ivory corsage peep toes from Next

bridal shoes from next Beautiful Bridal Shoes: Ivory corsage peep toes from NextThese shoes weren’t in the “weddings” section (as far as I could tell, anyway), but I’m going to assume they’re bridal shoes anyway, because I just don’t see too many other people finding themselves in need of ivory shoes with giant corsages on the heels, do you?

Personally, I think the flowers are a little too much here, and would’ve had just as much impact, but been a little easier to wear, if they were ever so slightly smaller. If you can’t wear giant flowers on your heels when you’re getting married, though, when can you? So if you can see yourself walking down the aisle in these (or walking somewhere else for that matter), head over to Next, where you can buy a pair for £55.

    Rupert Sanderson Ivory slingback sandals

rupert sanderson ivory slin Rupert Sanderson Ivory slingback sandalsWhite or ivory shoes inevitably make many people think of brides, but if you don’t happen to have a handy wedding planned, I think these Rupert Sanderson slingbacks could also work during the summer, for almost any formal occasion. I’m picturing them with a 50s-style prom dress in some bright colour – or, um, polka dots, perhaps. In fact, imagine these with a black and white, full-skirted polka dot number, and you’ll maybe get where I’m coming from. They manage to be both cute and sophisticated at the same time, and if you happen to have £480 looking for a purpose in life, they can be yours. Get them at Browns.

Beautiful Bridal Shoes: Dune’s ‘Jem’ diamante bow d’orsays

I swear shoe manufacturers are doing this just to torment me: everywhere I look there are gorgeous bridal styles, and I, as an old married woman, can’t wear any of them!

These ones from Dune are actually too cute to be hidden under a long dress, so I’d be tempted to pair them with a shorter style if possible, or to just make sure my toes peeked out the bottom of my dress at every possible opportunity. They’re £99, and you can buy them from the Dune website.

    Kathryn writes…

    Hi!

I have recently moved to England from Canada, and just before I moved over here I got engaged!  I am only living here for a year, and I got my dress back in Canada, but I really want to get my shoes and purse while I am here – the only thing, is I am not really sure where to go.  My dress is diamond white silk taffeta, full length; here is what it looks like.

I love the idea of a retro-style shoe, either in my white colour, or a pale yellow (which is my colour), or even a gold. I don’t want crazy high heels, as I don’t want to fall up the aisle.  I was hoping you could give me some recommendations!  I figured that you, above anyone else, would be able to give me some advice on the current shoe markets.

    Thanks!
    Kathryn

    Beautiful bridal shoes at Faith

bridal shoes faith Beautiful bridal shoes at FaithOnce again, I find myself wishing I could re-marry, just so I could buy a fabulous pair of bridal shoes. I’m guessing that’s probably a Bad Thing, right?

The latest shoes to inspire this wedding lust in me come from Faith’s new bridal collection, which includes the three styles shown above. My favourites are the flower-embellished sandals in the middle, although the court shoes on the left have a simplicity about them that’s also very appealing. As for the platforms – well, they’re certainly very fashionable at the moment (and I love the diamante brooch), but I’d generally advise steering clear of anything TOO fashionable for a wedding, because something very trendy can date your photos very quickly. If you do go for the platforms, though, it’ll be more important than ever to make sure you try them on with your dress. That advice goes for all wedding shoes, obviously, but particularly ones which will make a dramatic difference to your height, like these ones will – the last thing you want is to find your dress swinging around your ankles on the day!

    All shoes avaialble from Faith.

bridal shoes Beautiful Bridal Shoes by Badgley Mischka

Oh God, I HATE it when I find beautiful bridal shoes. Hate it. Why? Well, because I’m already married. And I think these beauties would be tough to pull off as “regular” attire, even for me – although they ARE available in black, too. So, instead, all I can do is admire them from afar, and hope one of my bride-to-be friends will buy them, so I can admire them in close-up.

The shoes above are Badgley Mischkla’s ‘Hyde’ heels, $149 at Heels.com. Read on for more Badgley beauties…
