At any given time, I always have a huge Boden wishlist, and this year is no exception: in fact, there are days when I’m almost afraid to look at the site in case I end up spending more money. (You may laugh, but it happened just last week: I went for a quick look, and walked away with a new sweater on its way to me.) (It’s an awesome sweater, though.)
This summer, the ‘Rosalyn’ dress shown above is one of the items sitting at the top of that wishlist. This dress comes in two different colourways – the one shown above, and a navy/grey version, which is also really pretty.
Now, as you can see, this is designed to look like a bit like a skirt and top. I normally avoid things like this, because, well, why not just BUY a skirt and top if that’s the look you’re going for? In this case, though, I’m happy to go along with it: you don’t need to buy a separate skirt and top, because here’s a ready-made dress – job done!
This is a lightweight cotton, which will be nice and cool for summer, and I love the broderie anglaise detail on the top. Speaking of which, if you would rather buy separates, I also love this little broderie top:
Boden Miranda top, £49
Again, this comes in a few different colours, but my favourite would have to be this cream/mint combo, which is just so fresh looking! I’m also coveting this top:
I love a good polka dot, and this is a very good polka dot! I’m imagining wearing it knotted at the front, with a 50s-inspired skirt (obviously), or perhaps a pair of shorts or capris. Just add a pair of giant sunglasses, and a swipe of red lipstick, and you have an awesome, retro/modern summer look!
