ASOS ‘Parody’, £40
These shoes are called ‘Parody’, which naturally begs the question; just what, exactly, are they parodying? Well, I don’t know about you (And I’m fairly sure the name is totally random, in any case), but I’m getting a really strong “Brian Atwood” vibe from this one. He’s used this kind of layered platform many times now, and he’s also (like many other designers, I might add) used this shade of a green, and a similar shape.
Are ASOS “parodying” Brian Atwood, or simply paying homage to him, with a shoe that’s similar-but-not-identical to some of his styles? Or is it just a coincidence? I have no idea, but I DO know I like these, and not just because the combination of mint and jade green is pretty lethal to me. I also really like the shape of these shoes, and think they look great on the foot, too:
A summer colour, an “anytime” shape, and enough height to give you a nose bleed: exactly my kinda shoe, basically!
