Well, today’s shoe was an easy choice for me! Some days it can take a long time to find the perfect shoe to show you, but the second I saw these ones at Net-a-Porter, I was smitten! These are part of a collaboration between Aquazzura and model Poppy Delevigne, and they’re called ‘Midnight’ in reference to the mood and star symbols decorating the gold, strappy upper.
As well as those details, these also have a thin ankle strap which criss-crosses its way up the ankle, and which is also finished off by a cute little dangling star. There’s just one issue with these that I can see, however: I had absolutely no reservations about them until I saw the photo of them on the model, and ouch! See the way the ends of the moon are digging into her foot? It’s leather, so hopefully it’s not as painful as it looks, but the fact that it even looks painful is just a little bit off-putting to me – shoes shouldn’t look like they hurt (even if they do…)!
Also from this collection is these suede platforms:
These shoes are equally as dramatic, but in a totally different way. Net-a-Porter describe them as “bohemian” looking, and I think that’s a pretty good way to describe them. Of course, it doesn’t describe me very well, which means I’d personally find these really tricky to style: I think they need to be worn with flared denim, as on the Net-a-Porter product page, or perhaps some kind of flowing maxi dress. I’ll leave that decision to those of you who know how to rock that style, though, because this is the only kind of maxi dress I can imagine wearing, and it’s actually an evening gown:
Pretty though, right?
