I’d have absolutely LOVED these boots a few years ago. And, I mean, I love them NOW …. to look at. A few years back, though, they’d probably be on their way to me as I write this, such was my desire for a pair of red ankle boots. Well, I wear red shoes so often that I figured red boots would prove to be equally versatile. Unfortunately, all I could ever find were dark reds, which weren’t quite in keeping with the “shoeperhero” red I was looking for, so I didn’t actually get to put that theory to the test. These days, I don’t need to: my passion for brightly coloured shoes has gone the same way as my passion for brightly coloured clothes, and I’m much more likely to stick to black, nude, or other neutrals. Yes, very sensible of me, I know, and even a little bit boring – so when I saw these boots over at Moda and Pelle, I just had to feature them: not just for old times sake, but because they really are amazing looking boots, from the bright red upper, to the elasticated heel. Don’t think you could quite pull off the red? Don’t worry, they’re also available in black suede – but if you love bright colours, the red might just be for you!
Speaking of Moda in Pelle, they very kindly gifted me a pair of their ‘Vancouver’ boots last winter, and I’m not sure how I’d have survived the season without them:
These are one of the very few pairs of boots I’ve found on the high street which have a truly narrow calf, so I was happy to see they’ve been re-released for this winter: or maybe they just never went away! I have the leather version, but I also tried on the black suede, and was torn between the two – highly recommended for those of you with narrow calves!
