All hail Sophia Webster! I know some of my readers have found the designer’s work to be a little too OTT in the past, but these rose gold wedges are so classically beautiful – but still with that Sophia Webster twist to them – I think they could appeal to a wide range of tastes.
They definitely appeal to mine, that’s for sure. I’ve always been a fan of wedges, which I find really comfortable to walk in, even if they’re high heeled, or platform soled. The one problem with wedges is that so many of them have a very chunky, clumpy look to them, which doesn’t really appeal – especially not in an evening shoe. These ones, however, are anything but “clumpy”: the carefully sculpted heel is wonderfully delicate, and the slim straps just add to that feel.
The best thing about these shoes, though? It has to be the bows on the heels, doesn’t it? (Er, is anyone even remotely surprised I said that?) This particular style of bow is a real Sophia Webster trademark, and it’s used to amazing effect here, with the crystal embellishments adding to the glam factor created by the lovely rose gold uppers.
If you’d rather skip the heel altogether, however, I also love these gold flats:
I always think it must be quite difficult to make a pair of flats as interesting as a pair of heels or even wedges, but Sophia Webster has definitely managed it with these Bibi flats. Again, these have a a lovely, delicate feel to them, and the butterfly design also contrives to give them a bit of a vintage feel, too. They’d be perfect for a special occasion: oh, and they also come in silver and black, if you’re not quite as obsessed with rose gold as I am right now…
