It’s been a long time since I last featured my all-time favourite shoe designer here (Er, that would be Christian Louboutin, just in case there was any doubt…) here : not because I don’t still love the man’s work, but because, well, there’s only so much gushing even I can do over these shoes, isn’t there?
Today I’m in a gushy kind of mood, however, so I’m going to indulge myself with a quick look at some of the current collection, available at Net-a-Porter. And I’m going to start off with a new/old favourite:
The ‘Cora’ heart-front pumps have been through a few different iterations lately, with ‘Iva Cora’ being the latest. This shoe uses the same basic design as its predecessors, however this time around the heart embellishment on the toe is made from beads and crystals. There’s something very wintry about this shoe, somehow, which makes me think it would look good with a pair of black tights.
These ‘Tudor Bal’ sandals, meanwhile, are apparently inspired by 16th century England, although if the real Tudors were wearing shoes like this, it would seem their lives were even more decadent than modern TV shoes would suggest. Anyway, with their wide, pearl-studded ankle strap and high stiletto heels, these have a very “vampy” feel to them, which will make for a glamorous evening look.
Finally, for something a little bit – or, OK, a BIG bit – different…
I love organza on shoes, and while, OK, this one does look a little bit like a very fancy mohawk, it’s definitely something a bit out of the ordinary – and the patent strap and conical heel don’t hurty, either. What do you think of these shoes?
