Shoeper Shoesday | The best shoes of the week

It’s been a while since I featured a pair of Vivienne Westwood x Melissa shoes, so I’m kicking off this week’s Shoeper Shoesday roundup with a fabulous pair of heart-front shoes!

These are an updated version of the original Lady Dragon heart shoes, and this time, as you’ll see, the hearts have wings. I’ll be honest: I actually much prefer the simplicity of the original design, which allowed the heart on the front to really stand out, but I wouldn’t say no to these ones either – and I do love the red and white colour scheme, which just never gets old for me!

With all of that said, I have to admit, I haven’t been wearing my Lady Dragons as much as I usually do this year (or not the heart ones, anyway: my cherry and bow versions still get a regular airing!), because while I do still love the look of them, they’ve started to feel a little bit too twee for my current style. That would also apply to these pink bow-fronted flats:

As I said, they’re not a style that would work for me personally, but I’m showing them anyway, because they’re all kinds of adorable, and I know there’s someone out there who’ll absolutely love them! As for me, meanwhile, here’s a shoe that’s a little more my style:

Brightly coloured shoes are another thing I haven’t been wearing much lately (can you tell I’ve been going through a bit of a change, style-wise?): again, I still love them on other people, but they don’t feel quite “right” on me, somehow. I do, however, have two exceptions to that “rule” – yellow and red. For some reason, they’re the only brights I really want to wear on my feet at the moment, so these pointed yellow pumps get the thumbs up, although if they’d been any other colour (apart from red), I’d probably have scrolled right past them.

Speaking of red shoes…

I still love these ones – and that’s one thing I DON’T see changing any time soon!
