How I Make a Living from Blogging

How I quit my job to blog for a living

This morning I woke up late, and drank coffee in bed, while scrolling through Bloglovin‘ and Pinterest.

Later, I went out for a run, before coming home to start my workday around lunchtime. Tomorrow, I’m planning to head off on adventure – which will technically be “work” for me (I’ll be writing a blog post about it later), even although it won’t actually feel like it.

I’m not telling you this to brag, by the way: far from it. I’m telling you because I sometomes still have to pinch myself to believe that this is my life – and that I get to earn a living doing something I love. It wasn’t always like this, you see. I spent years and years stuck in jobs I hated, and by the time I finally quit from the stress of it all, I was the unhappiest I’d ever been in my life. Something had to change, and when my husband, Terry, was diagnosed with kidney failure just a few days after we got engaged, I realised life was far too short to spend it doing something I hated.

And that’s when I discovered blogging.

I’ve been blogging for ten years now, and it’s been my full-time job for at least half that time. While I know it’s not for everyone, I can honestly say that blogging changed my life – and last week I released my first ever ebook, which tells the story of how I quit my job to become a full-time blogger – and how you can, too.

The book is now available to buy on Amazon, and if you’ve ever wanted to make money from blogging (or if you’re just curious about how the whole process works), I hope you’ll take a look!
