Top 5: Spring shoes

Top 5 spring shoes, as selected by ShoeperWoman

When it comes to clothes, I’ve been firmly in a monochrome mood, lately – possibly because of the gloomy weather we’ve been having this so-called spring.

Shoes, however, are a different matter, and while I’ll probably always gravitate towards neutrals there too, bright colours never fail to catch my eye – and often find their way into my closet, too. Spring, of course, is a great time for brights, so today I’ve rounded up five of my personal favourites from the shoe selection currently available in store. It was actually harder than I’d expected to find some shoes I’d consider “spring-like”: there are still a lot of blacks, browns and other darker colours around right now, but these five pairs more than make up for that. And hey: the sun came out as I started to write this post, so who knows – maybe I’d actually get a chance to wear some of them, rather than just looking at them!

If I had to pick a favourite, here, I’d probably go for the pink lace court shoes from Dune. I actually might have overlooked these shoes, considering the lace upper a bit too dressy for everyday wear, but then I spotted them on blogger The Londoner, and was very pleasantly surprised to find they were by Dune, and not the much higher-priced brand I’d immediately assumed. I think they look fabulous worn with blue jeans, as in the post I linked too, and they’d also look good with an all-white ensemble – perhaps finished off with that blush trench coat I showed you earlier this week, which might just be on its way to me as I write this, having briefly come back into stock in my size. I really shouldn’t have let myself be tempted, but the fact that it went out of stock again immediately afterwards makes me glad I did – fingers crossed that it actually arrives, and I didn’t just imagine the whole thing!

Anyway! Here’s are my top five spring shoes – for now…

  • The Paper Dolls Blue ‘Blossom’ Court Shoes really catch my fancy, but I’m having a bit of a conundrum as to whether I should wear them to match the Chinaware of my dinner event or use the pair as dinner table accents with or without some sort of bouquet in them balancing a placement setting on opposite points of the table depicting the occasion. Should I decide on them being table ornaments, I could wear the Red and Pink version of these court shoes that I saw on the Dorothy Perkins” site when looking for the ordering info.
