Dress of the Day | Hobbs Princess Amelia dress

Hobbs Princess Amelia dress

Hobbs Princess Ameila dress, £249

The Hobbs Spring/Summer 2015 collection is packed full of beautiful pieces: I’ve chosen the ‘Princess Amelia’ dress as my DOTD selection today, but, honestly, there were quite a few others I’d be equally happy to own! This one, however, is just a little bit different: the colour is described as ‘verdi green’ and is apparently inspired by the walls inside Queen Charlotte’s Cottage at Kew Palace. I’d have liked it regardless, but it’s always nice to know the story behind the little details of a dress, don’t you think?

Another little detail I like on this one is the cute little collar, which sits above the sheer neckline – there’s also a touch of shimmer at the waistline, too, making this a nice choice for a summer party.

Hobbs Twitchill dress in green

Hobbs Twitchill dress, £119

The ‘Twitchill’ dress, meanwhile, is the dress anyone who knows me could easily have predicted me choosing. If you’re not quite as obsessed with the colour green as I am, this one also comes in red and pale blue – I’d love that full skirt in any colour!

floral shift dress

Hobbs Cherry Blossom Shift, £149

This collection is, somewhat predictably, full of florals, but I’m not complaining: this Cherry Blossom Shift dress is a nice twist on the classic little white dress (LWD) and is so pretty and fresh looking!

mint green guilford bag

Hobbs ‘Guilford’ bag, £199

I’ve always been more of a shoe lover than a handbag lover, but lately I’ve been developing an expensive handbag addiction, and no matter how many I have, I still seem to be able to find another one to drool over.  At £199, the Hobbs ‘Guilford’ bag certainly isn’t cheap, but I’d have assumed it was even MORE expensive than that, and it’s gorgeous enough that if you love bags, it might just be worth it!
