Shoe of the Day | Dolce & Gabbana gingham brocade T-bar pumps

Dolce & Gabbana gingham brocade T-bar pumps

Dolce & Gabbana gingham brocade T-bar pumps, £525

Along with the ubiquitous florals, gingham is another print that rears its head every spring/summer – not that I’m complaining, I hasten to add! I’m very partial to a spot of gingham, and have a closet full of the stuff, on shoes, skirts and trousers. There’s always room for some more though, and Dolce & Gabbbana are definitely the brand to provide it – they apparently like gingham just as much as I do this season!

These t-bar pumps have a chunky heel and rounded toe, which would possibly give them a somewhat “sensible” feel, were it not for the addition of the fun print. Although I’m more used to seeing this particular print on peep toes and sandals, I think they’ve managed to make it work pretty well here – these are unexpected in a good way.

As I said, if you love gingham, Dolce & Gabbana are the brand for you right now. I love this dress:

and I REALLY love this one piece swimsuit:

What I DON’T love, however, is Dolce & Gabbana’s prices, so these will remain strictly “fantasy” purchases for me. Luckily there’s plenty of gingham print around at more reasonable price points, but while we’re on the subject of fantasy shopping (Which is one of my favourite pass-times, after all…), I’ll also take this little lingerie set :

This would set me back almost £500 for the set, and I could buy a pair of Louboutins for that, so, y’know, NO. This IS a fantasy, though, so money is no object – if only the same were true of real life! (Although, in all honesty, I’d STILL buy shoes instead of undies any day!)

  • Yes! For us who love wearing high heel pumps, their purchase often comes before we consider what is needed to wear with them. It’s as though the heels don’t really need the accessory of other appareling items or even a wearer to look fantastic. Once we realize the presence or availability of a pair of heels that instantly became must-haves, their mere status of being ours seems to complete the cycle which started at our first inkling of their existence. Wearing them afterwards is one of the many bonuses we have come to cherish in our high heel affinity. Who would have figured any person, especially a guy like me, could have such passion for heels, unless somehow this type of footwear has a way of connecting to any individual’s inner workings? The mystique of heels continues to impassion and exhilarate both males and females who desire them.
