5 Creative Ways to Use Your Old Shoe Boxes

What do you do with your old shoe boxes?

I know for many shoe collectors the answer to this one is obvious: to store shoes, of course! A lot of people like to keep their shoes in the boxes they came in, to protect them from dust, sunlight, and anything else that might damage them (Puppies, for instance. Puppies and shoes are a dangerous combination: trust one who knows…). While that can be a great solution for some, however, it’s not quite as practical for others, so if you don’t want to keep your shoes in their boxes, here are some creative ways to re-use them around the house:

I don’t know about you, but I always seem to be running out of places to keep jewellery, nail polish, hair ties, and all of the other bits and pieces that tend to accumulate. These little storage drawers would help solve that problem, and all you’ll need is an old shoe box!

Cables are the scourge of my life at the moment. OK, I’m exaggerating, but in an era when everyone seems to own multiple gadgets, you can end up with cables everywhere – and no matter how carefully you roll n’ store them, they ALWAYS seem to end up in a tangled mess. (How?!) This shoe box cable tidy  will allow you to charge your gadgets without having to un-knot the cable first: it makes me feel calmer just to look at it…

This is along the same lines as the cable tidy, but is especially for all you organsied, crafty types, who have gift wrapping stations or craft tables in your homes. I don’t think I’ll ever be one of you, but if I was, I know my inner neat-freak would love this!

These are just a few of the ideas I’ve found online: if you have any other creative ways to re-use your old shoe boxes, I’d love to hear them!
