Shoe of the Day | Jimmy Choo ‘Legia’ suede and metallic leather sandals

Jimmy Choo gold strappy sandals

Jimmy Choo ‘Legia’ suede and metallic leather sandals, £595

Proving that those old style rules saying you shouldn’t mix metallics are seriously out of date, these Jimmy Choo ‘Legia’ sandals combine gold, silver and bronze, to absolutely stunning effect.

As a brand, Jimmy Choo excels at creating beautiful evening shoes – hence their popularity with celebrities who have a red carpet to tread! If there are no red carpet appearances on your calendar, however, I’m sure you’d find no shortage of opportunities to wear these – they’re that perfect combination of ‘statement’ and ‘subtle’, so while they have plenty of wow factor in their own right, they’re still going to be incredibly easy to style. I mean, what DOESN’T go with metallic, barely-there sandals? Exactly.

These are exclusive to Net-a-Porter, and have a 4″ stiletto heel, which should be very manageable, especially to all you shoeperwomen out there who are used to walking/running/dancing/living in heels! The back of the heel, meanwhile, is a soft beige suede, which works really well against the metallic straps and stiletto, creating a really luxurious colour mix.

My first thought was to pair these with either cream or winter white, but then I discovered this dress:

DRESS | RING | EARRINGS | BRACELET

This is by retro dressmaker, Lindy Bop, and, having found it on Polyvore, I then lost the next 30 minutes of my life to browsing their website and adding items to my shopping basket. Given my love of vintage-inspired style, it seems incredible to me that I don’t yet own one of these dresses – I found absolutely tons of styles I loved, but, not knowing anything about the quality or fit (I suspect the sizing wouldn’t be quite right for me), I hesitated to hit the “buy now” button. I suspect my willpower won’t last for long, though – can anyone else hear that emerald green beauty calling my name?
