THE SHOES: Dolce & Gabanna crystal-embellished velvet pumps, £1,660
I know it’s only been a couple of days since I last showed you a pair of Dolce & Gabbana pumps – and a not dissimilar pair either, given that they’re from the same collection – but I’m sure you’ll forgive me for showing you these ones, too: especially once you take a look at those heels!
THOSE HEELS. I’ve said in the past that I’m not a fan of “novelty shoes” and that I like a heel to LOOK like a heel… Well, I’m not sure if these count as “novelty” heels, but if so, I take back everything I’ve ever said, because I LOVE them. I the shape of a delicate gold cage, housing a selection of tiny crystal flowers, they’re so pretty it almost feels like it would be a shame to wear them and risk ruining them, don’t you think?
In addition to the flowers in the heels, there’s another sweet like floral clasp on the strap, plus a veritable flower garden on the toe. All of this sits atop a rich plum suede, which gives all of those flowers a wintry feel, and a touch of opulence.
THE STYLE: skirt // cardigan // cami // bracelet // nail polish
This skirt is also available in black, and if money were no object, I’d probably buy both of them. I’ve featured quite a few leather skirts lately, and I think this one would be a nice way to take my love of that flared silhouette into the colder months of the year. This look would probably also require a pair of tights in order to beat the chill: this burgundy shade is quite prevalent at the moment, so it shouldn’t be hard to find a match (if you want to), but if not, good old black opauqes would also work.
My love of these shoes is overcoming my hatred of that type of chunky heel. Awesome.
