One of the main objections I hear people make to point-toed pumps is the idea that they’ll make your feet look longer. There’s definitely some truth in this assertion, and if you’re already sensitive about the size of your feet, a long, pointed toe probably isn’t going to help in that respect.

Not all pointed toes are made equal, though, and the toe isn’t the only thing you need to take into consideration, here. Actually, I think the height of the vamp can have just as much of an effect on how flattering a shoe is to the foot, and that’s why I approached these Versace scalloped pumps with caution. Their very high vamp, combined with the elongated toe, creates a very exaggerated effect, which will have a lengthening effect on the foot. If that bothers you, these would be best avoided. That would definitely be a shame, though, because just look at them! The scalloped sides give them a real “Evil Queen” feel, somehow: if they weren’t such a sweet shade of baby pink, I’d be imagining them on the feet of a glamorous-but-totally-evil Wicked Stepmother, or the like. As they are, however, they’re a nice cross between girlie and edgy, with a silhouette worthy of putting out on display.

Pale pink can be almost as easy as “nude” to style, as there aren’t too many colours it clashes with, but here’s one possible way to wear these, playing down the vampiness of the style somewhat, with relaxed jeans and a casual look:

boyfriend jeans and biker jacket

♥  Balenciaga leather biker jacket  ♥ 7 for All Mankind boyfriend jeans  ♥  Jacqueline de Yong tank   ♥  Carvela nude shoulderbag

I’m loving the trend for pastel biker jackets at the moment: this Balenciaga version is (naturally) pretty pricey, but luckily there are lots of lower-priced alternatives around too!
