Yes, that’s right: these shoes are by UGG. I’m featuring a pair of shoes by UGG – and not in a “Heroes or Villains” context either. No, I never thought I’d see the day either, but let’s be honest: these shoes are awesome, aren’t they? They’re stripey. They have cute, nautical-style rope heels. They’re secured around the ankle by means of a giant bow. They’re about as far removed from the type of footwear usually associated with UGG as it’s possible to get – oh, and they’re also available in black.
Like the Boden wedges I featured yesterday (You can tell winter is definitely on the way out when ShoeperWoman.com becomes over-run with pairs of canvas wedges), these would be fabulous shoes to throw in your suitcase for a summer vacation, and if you’re a fan of the nautical style, they’re the kind of thing you’d probably find yourself wearing with just about everything. White jeans. Navy shorts. Breton tops. T-shirt dresses. I could go on, but it would probably be easier to show you the kind of thing I’m talking about:
What to wear with nautical stripe wedges:
There are some who might say that a nautical stripe dress AND nautical stripe wedges is just WAY too much with the whole “nautical stripes” thing. I, however, am not one of those people, and even if I was, I think the stripe on the dress is subtle enough to work here. The dress itself, meanwhile, is the kind of thing that will work just about anywhere, and is one of those easy pieces that will always come to the rescue on those days when you feel like you have absolutely nothing to wear.
