Three pairs of neutral heels

glitter-heels

I’ve always been a big fan of neutral heels (or flats, or wedges, or… you get the picture.), but after three weeks of living out of a suitcase, and having to make the same small selection of shoes work with everything I’d packed (not to mention everything I BOUGHT…), I’m even more enamoured with the idea of shoes that can be worn with just about anything.

It came as no surprise, then, that when I got back to work yesterday, and started browsing through all of my favourite shoe websites to see what I’d missed, I kept finding myself drawn to the same kind of style: a pink or “nude” upper, a high heel, a pretty, elegant shape. Here are three of my favourite pairs of neutral heels, all available on the UK high street right now:

1. Miss Selfridge ‘Sista’ bow glitter heels, $80

You can see the back view of these shoes at the top of the page, and while it’s definitely the most distinctive element of the design, with its gold, glitter-covered heel and fabric bow, the front is also very nicely shaped, with low cut sides and a small peep toe. These are a pale pink colour, which I count as a “neutral”, not because it will match all skin tones (It definitely wont), but because it WILL work with most clothing colours.

If you’d prefer something a little more daytime appropriate, however, how about…

2. Neutral heels, £29.99, Zara

I love these, and as they’re a bit of a steal at £29.99, I’d be very tempted to buy a pair if I hadn’t already spent all my money on vacation! They’re perfectly shaped, however, and although they’re not leather (the price kind of gives that away!), they’re the kind of shoes I can see myself getting tons of wear out of it. They’re also available in black, too, if that happens to be YOUR “neutral”.

Finally…

3. Topshop ‘Steel’ beige high heels, £50Topshop 'Steel' neutral high heels

My third pick is from Topshop, and also available in black and maroon. Unlike the previous two pairs, these ‘Steel’ pumps have closed toes, and a metal heel, which gives them their name.
