Ravel sandals, £70
Well, they’re certainly colourful, you have to give them that, don’t you?
The colourblock trend has slowly but surely been starting to die out this year, perhaps due to the fact that the chunky platforms it’s usually attached to have started to go the same way. Colourblocking, you see, tends to work best over larger areas, and while I think it can be really effective on a strappy sandal, say, there’s no denying that it has that bit more impact on a shoe with more area to cover.
They may be less evident than they once were, however, but both platforms and colourblocking are still around, and these Ravel sandals are just one example. These combine a pastel upper in pink and blue, with a brilliant purple heel, and, as if that wasn’t enough, a silver glitter sole. It’s a lot to take in, and the shape of these doesn’t appeal to me at all, but the colours are actually more pleasing together than I might have expected, and I might well consider this look if it was used on a more elegant shoe.
What do you think of these?
These are a bit too clunky for me, but the colours are just lovely together. If the just had a smaller platform and a slimmer heel!
A little bit chunky but I still like them!
