christian louboutin glass s Happy Shoe Year!

Well, folks, tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, which means it must be time for me to make the same bad pun I make every year at this time, and wish you all a happy shoe year – groan!

On a serious note, I also want to say a quick thank you to you all for sticking with me this year, for joining in the Shoe Challenge, for commenting, reading and generally being the most shoeper readers I could wish for. I hope you all have a wonderful New Year: here’s to a very shoeper 2012!

Shoe Save # 74: Christmas Day

    D70 8699 Shoe Save # 74: Christmas Day

SHOES: Kurt Geiger ‘Corso’ Como pumps
    SAVED: Christmas Day, 2011
    WITH: Dress, Closet

A special day requires special shoes, so on Christmas Day I decided to save one of my very favourite pairs: my yellow Corso Como pumps from Kurt Geiger:

kurt geiger corso como1 Shoe Save # 74: Christmas DayI love everything about these shoes… everything, that is, but that very low vamp, which has a tendency to start rubbing uncomfortably against my foot after a while: gah! They’re definitely not shoes I’d want to walk miles in, but they were perfect for Christmas day, when I didn’t have to spend a huge amount of time on my feet!

You can’t really tell from the photo, but I wore blue jewellery to pick up the blue on the heels and toes of the shoes:

I posted lots of photos of Christmas Day over at Forever Amber yesterday, so you can take a look there if you particularly want to see them. Now, on with the important business of deciding which shoes to save next!

Ted Baker ‘Keanah2′ peep toes in silver glitter

If you follow me on Facebook, you’ve probably already seen these shoes, but they’re just too pretty not to show you twice!

These are Ted Baker‘s ‘Keanah 2′, and they’re the first of… well, really quite a lot of new shoes I seem to have acquired over the past couple of weeks. These actually weren’t a Christmas gift or sale purchase: I had a voucher code for Sarenza as part of the Brand Ambassador programme I’m lucky enough to be a part of, and although I’d previously have said that glitter shoes really aren’t my thing, the second I saw these, I knew I was going to have to reverse that opinion…

As some of you may recall, I already own the pink/red version of these shoes, and they’re one of my favourites, which is why I had no hesitation in ordering these: I absolutely love the huge bow on the ‘Keanah’ line, and I always think these shoe look just stunning on the foot (and on the shelf, for that matter). That said, I was just a little worried about the glitter upper, but I needn’t have been, because as soon as I opened the box, I was completely in love with them:

These are real “fairytale” shoes: they’re just so pretty and sparkly that I refused to take them off, and wore them all day around the house. I’m hoping to be able to officially “save” them on New Year’s Eve, but I have no idea what I’m going to be wearing (I have a dress on order, but it’s yet to be dispatched, and I don’t have a lot of faith in it getting to me on time, so my plans may have to change!), so if not then, I guess I’ll just have to manufacture some other event to wear them: there’s no way these won’t be getting saved!

If you want to see if they’re available in yours, you can click here to buy these from Sarenza, where they’re £95.

Shoe Save # 73: Christmas Eve

gold shoes Shoe Save # 73: Christmas Eve

    SHOES: Gold pumps, Rocket Dog
    SAVED: Christmas Eve, 2011
    WITH: Mango dress

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and found at least a couple of pairs of shoes under your tree: I know I did, but, well, the less said about that, the better for now. Let’s just say that between Christmas itself, and the Boxing day sales, I seem to have increased by total shoe collection by a number I’d really rather not think about. Can we have an amnesty on Christmas/sale shoes, do you think, or would that be cheating unforgivably? And who’s stupid idea WAS it to do a Shoe Challenge involving wearing aaaallll the shoes in the space of a year, anyway? Oh yeah…

Anyway, I have managed to get a couple of shoe saves in over the past few days, but I haven’t been at home much, so I’m a little behind with my posts. These shoes are from Christmas Eve, and they’re my gold Rocket Dog pumps:

As you can see, I went for a bit of a “sparkle” effect with this outfit, and as well as the glitter  on the heel of the shoes, the dress also has a subtle sparkle to it which looks better in real life than it does in these photos, but you’ll just have to take my word for that. These shoes are a few years old now, but they come in handy because they’re simple enough to work with almost everything, but still a bit dressy thanks to the colour and the glitter on the heel and inside the heart cut-outs.

    2011 Shoeper Roundup: Red shoes

red shoes 2011 Shoeper Roundup: Red shoes

I showed you a lot of red shoes this year, didn’t I? A LOT of red shoes. I think they were probably beaten only by my old friends, green shoes: we’ll put that theory to the test when I round up those tomorrow!

For now, here’s a selection of my favourite “almost neutral”: I love red because it works effortlessly with black, navy, white and other closet staples, and is always guaranteed to add that little something special to an outfit.

Here are some of the reds which won me over this year: if you want to see some more, take a look at the red shoe archive!
