Jeffrey Campbell Night Walk Platform Wedges

Black platform wedge shoes by Jeffrey Campbell

I can’t quite believe I’m about to write this, but I think I’ve found a pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes I don’t hate.

I’m not saying I’d buy these, mind you: The front of the shoe is too clunky for my tastes, and much clumsier than the Giuseppe Zanotti platform wedges I love so much, or, indeed, the Alexander McQueen wedges which these seem to be taking inspiration from.

I don’t hate them, though, and I actually love the shape of the heel, so this is a big step forward for me and Jeffrey Campbell, so I figured it was a moment worth recording, even although the more I look at the shoes, the more the words “Halloween costume” spring to mind, for some reason.

What do you think of these? They’re $160 and you can click here to buy them at Nasty Gal.

  • I don’t like these (at all), and I agree that JC sends out a lot of ridiculous shoes, but I do own two pairs myself (the Daisy D platform in navy/red and the yellow sunshine wedges), and I love them! They’re a bit more subdued than some of his designs, but still pretty quirky.
I have a love/hate relationship with JC, as I do with Irregular Choice shoes: sometimes they’re so right, but most of the time I just want to shake my head in disappointment.

  • I recently invested in a pair of JC boots, and while I’m still not entirely convinced I can do them justice I would have to disagree with Megan’s comment.
I think it’s clear to see that JC loves women and recognises the strength in the modern woman. I think that this is what you see celebrated in his designs. He makes women look fierce. Then again… that’s just my opinion

  • I’m Deeply in LOVE with this heel-less heels. i just bought them in nasty gal and i cant wait for them to arrive. ever since i saw them i knew i was meant to have them. But everyone has a different taste in shoes and this is definitely my taste
