    Charlotte Olympia Colourblock Satin Pumps

charlotte olympia pumps Charlotte Olympia Colourblock Satin Pumps

These shoes are missing the trademark Charlotte Olympia “half platform” (Um, I’m sure that’s not what it’s actually called, but you all know what I mean, right?), but they’re no wore for that: in fact, some of you may even like them a little better for it.

This is another example of three colours I probably wouldn’t have thought to combine myself, but which come together to create a stunning looking shoe. I’d say these were “bang on trend”, but I really hate that phrase, so I’d have to slap myself. Let’s just say they’re “very Spring 2011″ instead, hmm?

These are $780: click here to buy them.

    Nicholas Kirkwood glitter criss-cross sandals

Glitter: it never goes away, does it? This time it’s been added to a pair of sandals by He Can Can Do No Very Little Wrong, Nicholas Kirkwood, and the contrast between matt-black heel and glitter upper makes it a little less in-your-face than some glitter shoes. Mind you, I’ve been rather obsessed with all that glitters recently, so I’m very easily swayed by the sparkly stuff at the moment. If you are too, these are £595 and you can click here to buy them from Harvey Nichols.

    Prada colourblock extreme wedges

Well, Prada have definitely jumped aboard the colourblock trend, haven’t they? And, what the hell, might as well add one of those gigantic platform wedges everyone’s doing right now, hey Prada?

These are just two examples of Prada’s current Spring collection, but they give you a pretty good idea of the look the brand is going for right now: lots of bright colours, bold shapes, elastic straps, and maybe a bit of a rugged sole thrown in for good measure.

The elastic stripe wedges on the left of the image are $595 and the Mary Jane wedges are $695. What do you think of them?

Tan leather stiletto shoe boots from New Look

I’m hoping I’ll be able to pack my winter boots away soon, but you never can tell around here, so it’s always good to have something on hand (or on foot) in case of cold weather! I love these leather shoe boots from New Look, which come in one of my favourite neautrals – tan – and are the perfect shape to wear with both trousers and skirts/dresses, making them a nice transitional shoe for this between-the-seasons time of year. I also think £29.99 is a pretty reasonable price for a real leather upper, too.

These are also available in black, and you can click here to buy a pair.

Shoe Trends: Bright suede court shoes

bright suede court shoes Shoe Trends: Bright suede court shoes

The classic court is making a big comeback this season, as I’m sure you’ve already noticed from all of the pairs I’ve been showing you this month. The key to this season’s court is the suede upper and the bright colour: and while the pointed toe has long been out of favour with my readers, I think this type of toe really lends itself to this particular style, which is the perfect compliment to all of the big 50s style skirts and dresses the stores are full of at the moment (much to my pleasure), so I find myself starting to slowly come round to the idea of allowing pointed toes back into my shoe closet again.

Some of the shoes in the image above are ones I’ve shown you before, while others are new: all of them, however, have three things in common:

    1. They’re suede.

    2. They’re bright.

    3. They have pointed toes.

I’d quite happily take a pair of each, if the Shoe Fairy was offering, but what do you think of this trend? Are you tempted by any of these?

The shoes pictured can be found at:
New Look (Blue, pink, orange, yellow, £49.99)
    Miss Selfridge (Pink, blue, £48)
Topshop (bow shoes, £60, in mustard and purple, red shoes, £48)
    Zara (Green, £29.99)
    Mango (orange, $172)

ASOS ‘Posy’ purple suede peep toes

When I read the name of these shoes, I was expecting to see a flower of some kind on the toe, but nope, it’s a good ol’ bow. And obviously I’m not complaining: the bow-front peep toe is one of my very favourite styles, and this bright purple suede is the perfect upper for them, and such a gorgeous, bright colour for summer.

Celebrity Shoes: Lily Cole in Miu Miu’s two tone patent sandals

I’d just finished writing about Miu Miu’s two tone patent sandals this morning when I stumbled across this photo of Lily Cole (who’s now brunette, apparently), wearing the black and white versions to last night’s Empire awards. They look fantastic from this angle, but don’t actually look too comfortable in some other photos I’ve seen:

The contrast of white and another, brighter colour, always says “summer” to me: and also “sports” for some reason.

These Miu Miu sandals are far from sporty, but imagine them with something like a white tennis dress, worn while sipping Pimms on the lawn on a sunny afternoon. Perfect!

These are £325: click here to buy them from Net-a-Porter.
