Net-a-Porter’s new Shoe Subscription Service gives you one pair of shoes every month for a year

net a porter shoe subscription Net a Porters new Shoe Subscription Service gives you one pair of shoes every month for a year

How would you like a new pair of shoes from Net-a-Porter, every month for an entire year?

I know, stupid question, right? Of course you would!

Well, folks, the good news is that Net-a-Porter’s new Shoe Subscription service will allow you to get them. And the bad news? It’s going to cost you. A lot. The service, which Net-a-Porter are describing – quite rightly – as “the perfect holiday gift”, will set you back £8,000, which means that you’re paying £666 for each pair of shoes. Ah. This definitely isn’t aimed at the likes of me, then, because I’d be lucky if I spend £666 on shoes in a year (Actually, I’m not going to think too hard about that one…), but if you are in the habit of splurging hundreds on shoes every month, you also get sneak previews of new styles, the chance to pre-reserve new releases, express shipping and styling advice from Net-a-Porter’s fashion advisors.

If all of that’s enough to tempt you, you’ll have to click here for information on how to purchase – the offer isn’t available online, so you’ll have to speak to Net-a-Porter directly to arrange it. How the other half live, hmm?

Steve Madden ‘Avvery’ wooden-soled clog sandals

steve madden clog sandals Steve Madden Avvery wooden soled clog sandalsIt’s very typical of me to only really start getting into a trend once it’s in its death throes, and that seems to be what’s happened with the clog. I could’ve taken or left this style all summer, when you couldn’t go into a shoe store without falling over piles of the things, but now that they’re a little less common, I’m suddenly starting to get interested. Of course, the big advantage of that is that you get to buy the style a little cheaper than you would have when it was the height of fashion: these Steve Madden platforms have been reduced to $71 at Zappos, come in four different colourways, and something about the clunky look of them appeals to me right now. Maybe it’s just the contrast they provide with all of the glittery heels we’re currently surrounded with?

Black asymmetrical patent court shoes from Dorothy Perkins

black asymmetrical court shoes Black asymmetrical patent court shoes from Dorothy Perkins We all know black courts can get boring. They’re necessary, but… they can get a little dull, can’t they? These ones, however, have done their best to be interesting, while at the same time remaining classic enough to be worn to work, or to anywhere else where a truly “out there” shoe wouldn’t be quite appropriate.

These are also dressy enough for the … wait for it… party season (I’ve had so many press releases containing that phrase over the course of the last month that I now mutter the words “party season… party season… party season…” in my sleep, seriously), and inexpensive enough at £35 to not blow a huge hole in your Christmas shopping budget.

Tan buckle two-tone shoe boots from Miss Selfridge

tan two buckle shoe boots Tan buckle two tone shoe boots from Miss Selfridge

OK, I give up: I’m just going to set up a direct debit which will automatically send all of my money to Miss Selfridge each month, and, in return, they can just send me a selection of their shoes and dresses. It’ll be easier than the current method, but will basically amount to the same thing.

Seriously, though, as if you couldn’t have guessed by now, Miss S have really impressed me with their footwear this year, and these little two-buckle shoe boots are the latest shoes to have me drooling. A two-tone upper, a bit of brogue detailing at the toe, and, of course, those two little buckles on the front make these the perfect shoes for winter. In fact, I’d describe them as “bang on trend”, but then I’d have to slap myself because I hate that phrase. Let’s just say they look good, and will work well with lots of other winter fashions, hmm?

Dolce & Gabanna green silk bow pumps with beetle

dolce and gabbana green bow pumps Dolce & Gabanna green silk bow pumps with beetleTwo shades of green, a high heel and a bow? Well, Dolce & Gabbana are really spoiling me with these, aren’t they? And sure, there is the small matter of the beetle on the front. They’re not my favourite insects, it has to be said. (Um, come to think of it, I’m not sure I have a favourite insect. Does anyone? Ladybugs, maybe?) They do, however, add an interesting twist to a very sophisticated style, and I like that about them: at least it’s something different, no?

These are down to $341 at Endless.com – click here to buy them.

With: Polka dot skirt (eBay); turtleneck sweater (New Look); bow belt (New Look), pink tights (no idea)

I’m not sure how many of you will actually be around today, as opposed to off recovering from Thanksgiving dinners or shopping up a Black Friday storm, so this is just a very quick Shoe Challenge post, and the title is actually a little misleading, because this outfit is from Monday, rather than Friday. What’s a few days between friends, though?

Friday Night Louboutin Fix: Christian Louboutin Lady Peep Slingbacks

christian louboutin lady peep slingback pumps1 Friday Night Louboutin Fix: Christian Louboutin Lady Peep Slingbacks

The Christian Louboutin resort collection is now available at Neiman Marcus, and of all the shoes in the collection, I picked these ones for tonight’s fix, purely because, well, these ones were the loudest. “Look at me!” they seem to be shouting, and who am I to resit such a request from a curvy, perfect pair of peep toes?

I suspect the colour combination will put a lot of people off with these: turquoise, yellow and white is a very bold combination (and I think we have to include the red on the sole here, too, because that heel is so high that you get to see quite a bit of it), but it’s certainly a refreshing change at this time of year, and rather appropriate for a resort collection.

Miu Miu Sandali Polka Dot Cotton Sandals

Forgive me: I know I just wrote about Miu Miu yesterday, but then I came across these red polka dot sandals, and it seemed like a crime not to show you them.

The fabric uppers and open toes mean that these are very much a Spring/Summer style, and the polka dot print is also very summery: these would look fantastic with jeans and shorts, giving a pop of colour to a casual look, or you could just as easily wear them with a more dressed-up outfit. They’re lots of fun, and have me dreaming of summer already: click here to buy them for £322.
