christian louboutin Ronfifi Alta 100 buttoned boots Friday Night Louboutin Fix: Christian Louboutin Ronfifi Alta 100 buttoned boots

I’ve been banging on about the approach of winter for weeks now, so I thought I may as well bow to the inevitable and make this week’s Friday Fix a pair of boots.

I know at least one person who loves Christian Louboutin’s Ronfifi Alta 100 buttoned boots, and, actually, better make that two people, because I love them too. The Victoriana feel of the multiple buttons and lace-fronts is just perfect for winter: all you need is a fabulous coat to wear with them… oh, and £1,070.

Anyone else want to add their name to the list of those who love these boots?

Lace-up shoe boots from New Look in navy and black

This winter, I’ve decided I’m going to be needing a pair of shoe boots. I’d already kind of set my heart on Aldo’s ‘Narain’, but one colour is never enough (no matter how versatile it is), so these lace up faux suede boots from New Look are also looking good – and considerably cheaper, as you’d expect given the textile uppers. No, they probably won’t last too long, especially in wet weather, but I was impressed by the fact that they’re available in navy as well as black: navy boots are still pretty rare, and it’s a colour I wear a lot, so top marks to New Look for that.

I also, however, like the ankle boot version:

These shoes are here pretty much just for the laughs. I mean, lookit! They’re like clown shoes for high-heel lovers! They do make me smile, though, even although I can’t imagine a single situation in which I’d want to wear them, costume parties aside.

Look, they come in white, too:

They’re slightly less gigglesome in this colour, so if you want  to buy them, why all you have to do is click here and be ready to hand over £88.

    Would you wear them?

Peach lace ballerina flats from Topshop

Topshop have been doing some lovely things with lace recently, and these ballet flats are one of the results of that.

These don’t look even remotely practical to me, but I absolutely love the delicacy of the style, with the pretty lace uppers topped with a gauzy bow – so feminine! Sadly, these would only really work as slippers where I live, which makes the £75 price tag seem pretty steep (in fact, I was certain it was a mistake at first!), but if that’s just fine by you, you can click here to buy them. There’s a black version, too…

Forever 21 Mary Jane Posy Platform Pumps

These shoes are a bit of a departure for Forever 21, but won’t be at all surprising to anyone who’s been following footwear trends over the last few months, because these have all the hallmarks of the 90s-influenced, quirky-patterned shoe we’ve come to associate, first with Miu Miu, and then with the various other brands who jumped on board the bandwagon.

For me, these shoes are just a little - OK, a LOT – too much. Having experienced the fashions of the 90s first hand, I’ve no desire at all to have to see them all come back, and while clumpy shoes definitely have their moments, I don’t think this is one of them, although I’d be more than willing to change my mind if I see someone making these work.

What do you think of them? If you love them, you can click here to buy them from Forever 21 for just $25.80.

Dune red ‘Jackpot’ peep toes with chiffon bow

dune red jackpot peep toe shoes Dune red Jackpot peep toes with chiffon bow

The first ever pair of Christian Louboutin shoes I fell in love with were a style called Moon Bow. This was a good few years ago now, Louboutin’s designs weren’t nearly as well-known as they subsequentky became, and these were just the most beautiful shoes I’d ever seen. They were red, patent, and they had a fabulous little chiffon bow on the front. They looked absolutely nothing like Dune’s ‘Jackpot’ peep toes, pictured above, but the colour and bow reminded me of them nonetheless, and while these aren’t quite Louboutin, I think they’re still pretty cute.

If you do, too, these are £85, they’re also available in animal print, and you can click here to buy yourself a pair!

Pierre Hardy for Gap bow wedges now on sale

I was a little underwhelmed by these shoes when they were first released, but they’re one of those styles that’s completely transformed as soon as you wear it, and having seen photos of lots of different people wearing these now, my opinion has done a complete 360, and now I love them: which is why I was so pleased to see that they’re currently on sale for $79.99 from the original $110, and less pleased to see that they’re no longer available in my size. Boo!

If you happen to wear one of the sizes that are still available, these wedges are the perfect combination of simple and extravagant, with the nude uppers having a leg-elongating effect (assuming they’re the same kind of “nude” as you are, that is) you don’t normally tend to associate with wedges, and the scarf that ties around the ankle adding a quirky, “look-at-me” touch.

Click here to buy them from Gap, who are AT LAST offering international shipping from their website. And about time, too!

Shoeper Shoe Challenge # 45: Summer’s Last Stand

shoeperwoman and the curse of the green dress Shoeper Shoe Challenge # 45: Summers Last Stand

    What: New Look tan slingbacks
    When: Wednesday, August 25th, 2010
    Where: Around town
With: The Cursed Green Dress (George via eBay), my dad’s belt, an ancient black cardigan bought in Florida many years ago, and a tan handbag from a boutique in Greece, also many years ago.

I had pretty much resigned myself to the idea of letting my toes freeze this week in order to get some of my more summery shoes through the challenge, but much to my amazement, the sun made a very welcome return today, so of course we grabbed the opportunity to get out and enjoy it while we still can!
