Pale green strappy clogs from Miss Selfridge

green platform clogs Pale green strappy clogs from Miss Selfridge

I’m sure you’re all probably tired of hearing how “hot” clogs are this season by now: I know I am. For some reason, though, that doesn’t stop me coveting these pale green platforms by Miss Selfridge. They’re just clog-like enough to give a cursory nod to the trend, if such things are important to you, but not quite clog-like enough to make people ask how you enjoyed your holiday in Holland.

They’re also a colour that’s guaranteed to get my attention at least: I love that pale green upper!

These are £45 and you can buy a pair here.

The Worishofer Shoe: the new celebrity footwear of choice, apparently

    by

Worishofer Womens 251 Sandal The Worishofer Shoe: the new celebrity footwear of choice, apparentlyNo, your eyes don’t deceive you: I’m showing you orthopaedic shoes, and I’m trying to claim that these are a fashion statement. I’m pretty sure that’s one of the signs of the Apocalypse right there.

What I’m not doing, however, is claiming I’d ever wear these personally (relax, good readers!): it’s no secret that I like my shoes high, and I like them not to look like what the elderly contingent of my town like to wear with their flesh-coloured tights, but apparently these shoes ARE the hot new fashion trend. They’re Worishofer orthopaedic sandals (originally designed for people with bunions) and, having been spotted on the likes of Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams, they’re now being described as the hottest celebrity must-have.

It’s at times like this I’m glad I don’t follow fashion.

What do you think of these? Obviously wearing them because of foot issues is totally understandable, but do you think they can make the leap to fashion-item? If you do, you can get them at Amazon.

D-Co Copenhagen leather Western boots with heart cut-outs

heart print cowboy boots D Co Copenhagen leather Western boots with heart cut outsHearts: they’re not just for shoes, readers, and I was pleased to see them used to rather nice effect on these Western style boots by D-Co Copenhagen.

Cowboy boots tend to elicit extreme reactions, with some people hating them, and others wearing little else, depending on the time of year. I fall somewhere between those two extremes: I’m not fond of the highly-decorated boots you find in real Western stores, but I think a plain-ish pair in this kind of style can be fairly classic, and very wearable.

Want to give them a try? These are £88 down from £175 at ASOS.com.

Especially for those of you who like your heels a little lower than the ones I tend to feature here, Kurt Geiger’s Adalia peep toes come with a manageable 1.9″ heel, but don’t compromise anything on style. I particularly like this powder blue colour, but these also come in a summery bright yellow patent, plus red, taupe and black leather.

Actually, I like the red ones so much I’m going to have to show you them, too:

Saturday Shoe Shot: The ones you all knew I’d buy…

new look nautical platform shoes1 Saturday Shoe Shot: The ones you all knew Id buy...

Well, pay day arrived, and by an amazing co-incidence, so did those navy platforms from New Look which I was drooling over last week! Oh come on, like you didn’t know I would buy these!

These actually felt like even more of a bargain than the £25 price tag would suggest, because I happened to have some money in my Paypal account, and, like Caroline, who’s also written about this, I always feel like a Paypal balance is somehow free money. I mean, it doesn’t really count, does it?

(Yeah, yeah, I’ll keep telling myself that…)

I had a bit of trouble with the sizing on these shoes, because I’d initially assumed they were the same style as the pink and black platforms I have from New Look, and which I’d had to size up in. I ordered them in a size 5, then, but when they arrived I realised that they’re not quite the same shape at all: these have a round toe rather than a pointed one, and the 5s were huge, so they had to go back and be replaced with my usual size 4.

That aside, I love them just as much in the flesh (or in the faux-suede, rather) as I did in the photo, and am planning on getting lots of use out of them.

Enough about me, though: which shoes are YOU wearing today?

green floral dress shoe challenge Shoeper Shoe Challenge # 38: Cherry Cherry Boom Boom

What: Vivienne Westwood Anglomania/Melissa Lady Dragon Cherry Shoes
    When: Friday: July 23rd, 2010
    Where: Date night!
With: Green floral dress (New Look), sunglasses (Gucci)

What’s that in the sky, kids? Is that… THE SUN? I could hardly believe it, but it was true, so naturally I spun into action and went straight into “grabbing what might be the only opportunity to wear a sundress this year” mode. I also took the opportunity to wear my new Lady Dragon cherry shoes, which I’ve been wearing around the house ever since they arrived, purely because I love looking down and seeing the little cherries staring back at me. This was their first trip into the outside world, though. I think they liked it. Aw, my little shoes are getting all grown up!
